Bafousam: Prof Pascal Nguihé Kanté donates improved seeds to Farmers.

 Farmers of three subdivisions in the MIFI Division have received farming assistance in form of improved seeds and animal manure, from Professor Pascal Nguihé Kanté for the 9 consecutive time on Saturday 18th of March, 2023.

This gesture by the deputy minister, secretary general at the prime ministers office is aimed at improving agricultural production in the Mifi division. In total more than 1 ton of maize, 600 kilograms of beans and 600 bags of fowl droppings was distributed to the three sub divisions.

Mrs. Lea Estelle Nguihé Kanté representing her husband in the donation ceremony, says these improved seeds are from research done by IRAD and a kilogram is capable of producing a hectar. "...as you have heard from the expert, one Kilogram of maize can produce up to a hectar, so this improved seeds will help you produce at your maximum this year..." she pointed out to the farmers.

The calendar for planting season for the West Region according to MINADER, begins on the 20th of March hence, these seeds and organic manure come in time for planting and hopes are high it will boost the produce of the farmers this year.
